Settled in the Upper Carinthian area of Nockberge, Austria, Turracher Höhe is a medium-sized ski resort with 42km of slopes and 1km of marked ski routes available for skiers and snowboarders to discover There are 14 ski lifts here which help guests travel around the resort very easily, whilst the elevations of the resort lie in between 1,400m and 2,205m.
All in all, there are 14km of easy blue slopes, 24.5km of intermediate red slopes and 3.5km of difficult black slopes for locals and tourists to enjoy during the winter season. There is a great balance of skiing abilities here, including those who have never been skiing before and are keen to learn, all the way up to the well-seasoned skiers who will make a bee-line for the steep, black slopes. Guests are advised to experience the Schafalm slope, the Panorama run, the Eisenhut run and the Zirbenwald slope as they have been recognised as some of the best at the resort. Whereas the FIS run is the longest at the resort at 3km, the Direttissima is considered the most difficult, and should only be attempted by well-experienced skiers.
Starving skiers and snowboarders should check out Rüscherl, Gasthof Almstube and Tom`s Cafe-Restaurant-Pizzeria for some of the best local cuisine after a fun day on the slopes.
