The combined resorts of Vars and Risoul make up the fantastic La Forêt Blanche which is located in the Arrondissement of Briançon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France and is considered to have some of the best slopes in the Region. In totality the resort consists of 185 kilometres of slopes with 47 lifts to ensure smooth transportation as well as providing guests with amazing views of the Alps.
Offering a wealth of mixed ability slopes for skiers and snowboarders to explore, guests are lucky enough to enjoy elevation ranges between 1,650 and 2,750 metres. There are 75 kilometres of slopes ideal for those trying out their skis for the first time. A whopping 90 kilometres of slopes provide challenge for the intermediate skiers whilst 20 kilometres of black runs really put the most experienced of skiers through their paces, and include some extreme descents and terrain.
Night owls will revel in the fact that there are 2 options for night skiing, the Night Park Risoul 1850 which has 0.7 kilometres of floodlit slopes and the Ski Nocturne Écrins (Vars les Claux) which offers 0.5 kilometres - great for those who find the skiing day that little bit too short. Alongside its extensive variety of slopes, La Forêt Blanche has a selection of bars, terraces and restaurants to relax in after a long day on the slopes. La Marmotte located next to the Tourism Office, in the centre of the resort has a great menu ranging from local cuisines to pizzas and food for all the family.
