Alagna Valsesia resort information

Alagna Valsesia is one of three interconnecting valleys within the expansive Monterosa Ski resort, which is located in the Italian Alps.

Monterosa is a massive resort with an impressive 132km of slopes, which are located between elevations of 1,212m and 3,275m. There is also a further 5km of ski routes. For snowboarders, there is a snow park which features a half tube, boxes, rails and a wall ride.

It's pretty easy for skiers to travel between Alagna Valsesia and the two other valleys - Gressoney-La-Trinity and ​Champoluc-Frachey - thanks to the 20 ski lifts located around the resort. There's also a marked ski tour route, running in both directions, that connects all three valleys.

Within the Alagna Valsesia area, there are nine different trails and seven lifts. It also has the longest run within the Monterosa resort - Olen to Alagna, which is 8km in length and descends a total of 1,786m down the mountain. Out of the three valleys, Alagna Valsesia is probably the best starting place for beginners within the Monterosa Ski resort, as it has highest number of blue runs. There is also a ski school located there.

Alagna Valsesia itself is a tiny alpine village. It's located in the province of Vercelli, which is famed for historical landmarks such as the Basilica di Sant'Andrea, built in the 13th century. Vercelli also has plenty of restaurants on offer, from fine-dining options like Ristorante Cinzia Christian & Manuel, to more budget-friendly bars and pizzerias like Bar La Voglia or Acquapazza Ristorante e Pizzeria.
