Bormio ski resort is situated in the Alta Valtellina, Italy, and is a wonderful choice of destination for skiing and snowboarding. There are 50km of slopes available and elevations range between 1255m and 3012m. There are 11 operational ski lifts available, 1 aerial tram lift, 1 circling gondola lift, 5 chair lifts and 4 T-Bar lifts. The top of the mountain which stands above 3000m is a popular spot for those who appreciate landscapes and scenic views, ideal for a panoramic photo.
The slopes here, and the resort have been popular in the past as the World Ski Championships have been hosted here, given the excellent facilities and extensive slopes. Bormio ski resort offers a variety of slopes, from beginners to experienced skiers, the easy slopes have 14km of runs available, intermediate skiers can expect 34km of snow filled runs and for difficult runs there are 2km of thrill seeking slopes ahead.
The slopes pass through the forest and down into the valley, and there are ‘freeriding’ zones marked out for everyone to have fun on, as well as night skiing which is available usually until 2100hrs. The longest run available is the Cima Bianca-Bormio with a total length of 8km. The most difficult run is the Betulle, which is 2km long. The snow park is a wonderful way for the children to learn about the safety needed to be on the slopes independently as well as learning the techniques required for more advanced skiing.
