The ski resort Val Senales Glacier (Schnalstaler Gletscher) is located in the Val Senales (Schnalstal) South Tyrol, Italy and is only a 1-hour transfer from Bolzano Airport and lies along the border between Austria and Italy. It is a fantastic ski area and is the home to The Grawand Glacier Hotel, the highest mountain hotel in Europe which stands at 3212 meters above sea level. With outstanding views and a wide range of terrain, it is clear to see why it is such a popular resort of choice amongst skiers and snowboarders.
With elevations between 2,011 and 3,212 metres and over 27.2 kilometres of slopes, there really is something to suite every taste. Covering pistes of all difficulties skiers can choose to take it easy on the 8 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes, the glacier runs and the slopes in the valley at the Glocken lifts are ideal for beginners. Choose to build up their confidence on 11.6 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes or really show off their endurance skills on the 11.6 kilometres of downhill ‘expert’ black slopes, finding challenges on the Teufelsegg, the valley run and the Leo Gurschler slope. Skiers and snowboarders will revel in the fact that there are very short waiting times for the 12 lifts situated in the resort. These lifts ensure transportation around the resort is quick and easy as well as giving residents the time to take in the breath-taking alpine views on offer.
In addition to the wide range of slopes, the Funpark Val Senales is a winter playground for snowboarders with a range of obstacles such as easy lines, boxes and kickers as well as a wave run for freestylers to show off their skills.
