The Grächen ski resort is located in the Matter Valley, Lemanic Region, Wallis, Switzerland and is only a short transfer journey from the nearest airport. With 42 kilometres of perfectly groomed and prepared slopes it is easy to see why this is a family favourite for many skiers. The elevations between 1,619 and 2,864 metres and 95 % of the slopes having snow-making capabilities, excellent snow coverage is guaranteed throughout the winter season.
The Graechen ski resort offers a wide variety of slopes from alpine terrain to smooth descents. Expert skiers can revel in the 2 kilometres of black runs located above Stafel, where the diverse yet challenging slopes lead through rocky landscape with mighty cliffs. Intermediate skiers can take advantage of a whopping 31 kilometres of red slopes which consist of curvy, narrow slopes leading from St. Niklaus towards Graechen, whilst novice skiers can practice their skills on 9 kilometres of blue runs on the Hannigalp leading towards Graechen, these slopes lie beneath the treeline and have a much smoother descent. Another interesting factor for children is the unique fairy tale gondola which leads is guests up to the top of the ski resort. However the tip of the iceberg so to speak has to be the spectacular scenery from the top of Seetalhorn-Durlochhorn-Plattja which offers beautiful panoramic views of the Ried Glacier.
