Gavarnie/Gedre–Les Espécières ski resort is located in Arrondissement of Argelès-Gazost, France and is situated in an exceptional location which is listed by the UNESCO World Heritage program. Its spectacular views and outstanding natural beauty leave much to be desired, including the world-famous Brèche de Roland.
This medium sized resort offers skiers and snowboarders a total of 33 kilometres of slopes set at elevations between 1,850 and 2,322 metres. Surrounded by beautiful scenery these slopes are suitable for all abilities. From the gentle and extra wide ski highways of the 17 kilometres of red slopes to the speedy 12 kilometres of intermediate slopes, right up to the 4 kilometres of steep expert terrain, this resort has an enormous variety of runs.
Cross-country skiing is also available at the resort as guests can take advantage of the 8 kilometres alpine trails. Alongside the variety of slopes on offer, visitors and residents can revel in the alpine mountain views, whilst taking a snowshoe hike through the beautiful landscapes. There is also a ski school where children and adults can learn to become more confident in this ever-popular winter sport. A popular highlight of this fantastic resort is the viewing points ‘Pic Des Tentes’ 2322 metres and ‘Col Des Tentes 2207 metres, from here you are able to take in the spectacular views and scenery this resort has to offer.
