The ski resort Arolla is located in the Val d’Herens, Lemanic Region of Switzerland. Only a 45-minute transfer from Sion Airport or a one hour and 30-minute transfer from Geneva Airport, this resort is perfect for skiers of all ages and abilities, boasting spectacular views and scenery.
With over 47 kilometres of slopes and elevations between 2,000 and 2,980m, the high altitudes ensure fantastic snow coverage throughout the season. The 20 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes are ideal for beginners and those who want to develop their skills. There are also plenty of slopes to challenge and excite the intermediate skier, with over 18 kilometres of ‘red’ slopes. For those confident skiers who are looking for something more advanced, there are 9 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes. For high speed descents and exhilaration, the ‘Haute Route’ is perfect for thrill seekers.
Children from the age of 3 upwards can hone their skills at the outstanding ski school ‘Ecole Suisse de Ski d’Arolla’ run by over 20 qualified instructors, the ski school often organises exciting slaloms, cross-country races and torchlight descents throughout the winter season. For those who want to learn something a little different, there is also a paragliding school.
The ski resort Arolla is ideal for downhill and cross-country skiing, heli-skiing, paragliding and guided snowshoe hikes. When it's time to take a break from the slopes, ‘Cafe-Restaurant du Glacier’ offers diners the chance to relax and dine amongst the pine tree forest, literally on the ski slopes.
