The ski resort Čertova Hora–Harrachov is located in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic and is sometimes referred to as ‘The Giant Mountain’ The resort itself consists of 8 kilometres of slopes of varying difficulty and has elevation ranges between 650 and 1,020 metres. Although it is a small resort, it is well known as being one of the best resorts in the area for ski jumping.
The resort offers a range of slopes for all abilities from beginners to the most confident of skiers. There are 3.7 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue runs, and many training areas which are ideal for beginners and families. 3 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red runs for those who want a bit more of a challenge and 1.3 kilometres of ‘expert black runs with downhill slopes such as ‘Devil's Mountain’, perfect for the more ambitious skiers. For transportation around the resort there are 5 lifts including two four-chair lifts to the summit. Those who enjoy cross-country skiing will find themselves at home here as there are many kilometres of maintained tracks and paths to the Krkonoše Mountains.
As previously mentioned, the resort is well known for its ski jumping facilities, it is the only resort in the Czech Republic to cater for such, equipped with a complete set of eight jumping bridges. The smallest is an 8-metre bridge ranging to the K185 mammoth bridge, which allows flights over two hundred metres, perfect for thrill seekers and daredevils.
