Bellevaux-La Chèvrerie is a small, picturesque resort, and is part of the Roc d’Enfer ski area which connects to Saint-Jean-d’Aulps - La Grande Terche. It is easily accessible from Geneva airport, which is just 47km away. The altitude of the slopes in the resort range from 900 to 1,800 metres above sea level. Bellevaux-La Chèvrerie shares 40km of the Roc d’Enfer ski area and is known for its well-preserved forests, giving a feeling of being among nature.
There are 15 slopes of varying difficulty (three green, five blue, five red and two black) available and there are six lifts in total. From these lifts you can connect with the other resort of Roc d’Enfer, which is Saint Jean-d’Aulps - La Grande-Terche. An adult lift pass for Bellevaux-La Chèvrerie is currently priced at 14.3 euros per day.
Bellevaux is a small town of around 1,500 inhabitants, and there are plenty of activities to partake in besides skiing. If you prefer walking, there are plenty of snowshoeing routes and alpine trails especially via La Chèvrerie. Furthermore, you can also take part in dog-sledding in the winter months.
Surrounding Bellevaux, there are some attractions worth visiting such as Lac de Vallon, which was created naturally by a landslide in 1943. There is a wildlife museum with over 140 stuffed animals, and a history museum so you can discover the heritage of Bellevaux. In terms of amenities, there is also a petrol station, a supermarket, several hotels and a couple of restaurants in Bellevaux.
