Chamrousse is an outstanding ski resort located in the Arrondissement of Grenoble of Southern Eastern France. Only a one-hour transfer away from Chambery or Grenoble airport, Chamrousse provides a perfect setting for a first-time family ski holiday with a range of slopes and exceptional panoramic views overlooking Grenoble on the valley floor.
The ski area consists of 90 kilometres of slopes that guarantee variety for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities and with elevation ranges between 1,400 and 2,250 metres. New skiers will welcome the 45 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes and beginner runs, perfect for the first few days on skis. If you’re looking for a little more of a challenging terrain then there are 35 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes and 10 kilometres of ‘expert’ black runs which are situated in the ‘Croix de Chamrousse’ area which is the highest point of the resort.
Chamrousse is not only for skiers, as there is an abundance of outdoor activities on offer for example, paragliding, snowshoeing, snow and ice driving. There is also a spa and wellbeing centre for those who are really looking to relax and unwind.
For après ski residents and visitors will be able to choose from the wealth of bars, restaurants and terraces on offer. If you're in the mood for a beer and some good music, head to ‘K-Dox’ or the ‘Chamrousse Restaurant’ serves local specialties including crepes, fondue or raclette.
