Less than 50 minutes from Geneva International Airport, La Faucille is one of four resorts which form the Monts Jura ski region. Its elevation on a high mountain pass offers spectacular scenery. From the moment visitors arrive on the gondola, they will be delighted by the views across to Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva. Seven lifts connect the resort, including one which takes skiers directly into neighbouring Mijoux.
Spanning in excess of 15 kilometres of slopes, resort elevations vary between 1,000 and 1,533 metres. Downhill skiers will enjoy over 11 kilometres of easy slopes and more than 4 kilometres of intermediate slopes, including the 1,533 metre Petit Mont Rond run. This makes the area ideal, both for beginners and those looking to improve their skiing.
For cross country skiing, take the Valmijoux chairlift to Mijoux village, to link up with 35 kilometres of well-maintained trails in a double track layout. Here you’ll also find one walking trail and one snowshoe trail. Other activities available in Mijoux include hiking and electric bike riding in the Upper Jura Regional Nature Park.
Keen cyclists will be fascinated to visit the Col de La Faucille, famous for being on the Tour de France route. Paintball, tree climbing, and sledging are also popular activities. Nearby La Vattay is a leading Nordic skiing resort, with over 150 kilometres of slopes. Skating is also available on La Vattay Plateau.
Foodies will be delighted with the selection of restaurants in the region, including La Mainaz. This popular eatery is recommended in the Michelin guide as using only the best ingredients to create a 'sometimes daring' menu.
