Situated in the Faucigny area of France, Le Grand Massif ski resort consists of a number of villages and resorts for visitors and residents to discover. With over 265km of slopes to enjoy, skiers and snowboarders will be in their element.
In totality, Le Grand Massif consists of 5 linked resorts that each bring their own unique terrain and slopes for skiers and snowboarders to explore. They include Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, all connected via 68 lifts, gondolas and even a funicula.
There is a diverse mix of slopes given the elevation of 694 to 2476 metres, giving some steep slopes for advanced skiers to challenge themselves, but a majority of wider, easy slopes for beginners to get to grips with. The added bonus for most of the slopes is the panoramic views of Mont Blanc and surrounding mountains.
Higher altitude gives the resort a slightly longer snow season, and the north facing slopes benefit from an abundance of snow that is also excellent quality for skiing on. Other activities include a snow park, play areas for children and many other winter sports for visitors and residents to try. Morillon and Samoëns are generally known for offering a relaxing ski holiday ideal for families, whereas Flaine is a lot more vibrant, catering for the après-ski crowd.
