Les Houches is a family ski resort which is comprised of charming and traditional mountain hamlets and has a number of facilities.
Stretching over 55km of set ski runs, the Les Houches ski resort has a slope for every level of skier. The lowest altitude run is 950m and is perfect for children and beginners, and the highest run sits at 1900m in altitude and is a favourite amongst daring and brave skiers.
The ski runs themselves extend through antiquated forest terrain and there are two separate areas where beginners can learn to ski. Novices can trundle up the gondola and admire the spectacular views before commencing their lessons at ‘Le Tourchet’, or they can start easy at the base of the mountain.
The Les Houches ski resort also has premium areas for cross country skiing, and many ski racers experience great enjoyment on ‘Le Verte des Houches’, which is a world-class ski descent.
Les Houches is a favourite for families, as there are so many other activities on offer beyond skiing. The resort is well equipped with high-class tobogganing facilities, an ice-skating rink and it even has its own adventure park. Nearby resorts to explore in the Chamonix region include La Flégère, Grands Montets, Le Brevent and Le Tour/Balme.
Holidaymakers are invited to embrace adventure and paraglide around Mont Blanc to admire the slopes they have conquered as well as their supreme lodgings from above.
