Galibier Thabor-Valmeinier/Valloire ski resort is located in the Maurienne, France. It is a large resort which offers a fantastic 150 kilometres of slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities and elevations are between 1,430 metres and 2,590 metres. It is here that exhilarating slopes, magnificent mountains and spectacular views of the lake are awaiting.
Novice skiers and younger children can choose from 70 kilometres of ‘easy’ slopes to practice skills and turning on wider smoother slopes whilst more confident skiers can take advantage of 60 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ slopes. If you’re looking for extreme exhilaration then there are 10 kilometres of ‘expert’ black runs including the ‘Coterieux’ and ‘Dahu’ which are sure to challenge even the most confident of skiers. There is also an alternative valley run available, a snow park, and night skiing is available on 0.6 kilometres of floodlit slopes, perfect for night owls.
The fun at this resort doesn't end on the slopes, there is an abundance of alternative activities to take part in. There is a special zone dedicated to sledging which is located in the Valmeinier area. Visitors can explore the entire resort and its spectacular views on a tandem ski lead by an instructor, or why not discover nature with the magnificent Nordic dogs. For something completely different there are paragliding and speed riding courses available for all levels of ability.
