For a tranquil escape in a beautiful alpine forested setting, head to the Ventron Ski resort situated in the heart of Hautes Vosges, France. Fans of French skiing will appreciate this little gem, along with its 10 kilometres of slopes and 9 lifts to transport guests. The elevation of the ski resort is between 830 and 1,110 metres and with 70 snow cannons there is plenty of decent snow coverage to satisfy visitors and residents during the winter season.
With easy slopes encompassing 5 kilometres, intermediate slopes covering 4km and difficult covering 1 kilometre, there is definitely more for the first-time skier at this resort. This also means families enjoy their time at the resort, giving children the chance to learn skiing and snowboarding from an early age.
For those who go on skiing holidays for the adventure, there is also Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, ice climbing, toboggan runs and a bobsleigh. Once you’ve drained all your energy on the snow, seek out fine dining at Ermitage Frère Joseph, or even enjoy some après-ski refreshments at Chez Pierrot.
