If you’re more familiar with Italian skiing, the Speikboden – Sand in Taufers (Campo Tures) ski resort might be just the thing for you and your family. There are 38km of slopes at this resort, along with an extra 5km of marked ski routes for those explorers in your party. With 7 ski lifts transporting guests between elevation of 950m and 2,400m, there is plenty to see and do during your stay.
The slopes are nice and wide at this resort, meaning it is perfect for newcomers or those with limited experience on snow. In total, there are 21km of easy blue slopes, 6km of intermediate red slopes and 11km of difficult black slopes. This varied amount of terrain ensures that there is something for everyone, including great ski instruction for younger children looking to strap on their first pair of skis. The longest run is Sonnklar-base at 7.5km in length, although the Speikboden valley run, Seenoch Sonnen slope and Gamslaiten slope are all worth trying out. Lastly there is a snow park and fun park for children to tire themselves out.
Wine and dine in the evening and rest those tired legs with a visit to Restaurant Schüsslerhof or Ristorante Mittelstation, depending on where you are in the resort itself.
