Cited as the highest resort in South Africa, the Tiffindell ski resort is situated in the Province of Eastern Cape, and has 2.4km of slopes available to skiers and snowboarders. There are 5 ski lifts available here, which will deliver guests to slopes between elevations of 2,700m and 2,930m.
Set on the slopes of Ben McDhui, which includes the highest peak in the cape at 3001m, there are over 15 acres of skiable areas here in total, and normally welcomes locals and tourists in the months of June, July and August. There are 0.6km of easy blue slopes, 0.8km of intermediate red slopes and 1km of difficult black slopes for guests to take advantage of. There is a good balance for those of varying skiing abilities, where beginners and young children can try out the snow for the first time, whilst pro-skiers can find the steeper slopes to get the blood pumping. There is a valley run for those intrepid explorers to tackle, a snow park for freestylers to practice tricks, and a fun park where children can build snow men and have snowball fights in a safe environment.
