The Elm im Sernftal is an outstanding ski resort located in the Sernftal area of Eastern Switzerland. It is well known for its variety of slopes and its rustic, fine ski huts and is only a short 1 hour 20 minute transfer from Zurich Airport. There is over 40 kilometers of exhilarating slopes with an additional 2 kilometres all set at elevations between 1,020 and 2,105 metres, perfect to suit all ages and abilities.
For those skiers new to the winter sport, there are 15 kilometers of smooth ‘blue’ slopes to get to grips with at an easy pace. With the majority of the slopes targeted towards the more confident skiers, there are 20 kilometers of ‘red’ slopes to explore as you’re challenge to master the slopes at the Schabell lift. 5 kilometers of ‘black’ slopes ensure that ambitious skiers and professionals can also have endless fun on the pistes with the most demanding slope being the Steinibach valley run which is 4 kilometres long. There are also 33 snow cannons which ensure quality snow coverage throughout the skiing season.
A visit to the Elm im Sernftal ski resort is not complete without seeing the Martinsloch (Martin’s Hole) which is a 19 metre wide rock window which is set at an elevation 2,600 metres where the sun and the moon can be seen through this idyllic natural picture frame. As previously mentioned the Elm im Sernftal is well known for its rustic ski huts as there are 4 Mountain restaurants & Ski huts to choose from. The Munggä Hüttä is located On the Rietboden slope and offers some of the best views of the surrounding area guests can choose to eat their meal in the warmth of the hut or outside on the beautiful sun terrace.
