Located in the Canton of Nidwalden, Central Switzerland nestled amongst the White Mountains is the fantastic Klewenalp/Stockhütte – Beckenried/Emmetten. With over 40 kilometres of slopes and elevations between 1,200 and 2,001 metres, the resort is only a short transfer away from the nearest major airport which is Zurich Airport and appeals to all skill levels, offering a variety of terrain.
There are 15 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes, perfect for young children and more novice skiers who are looking to get to build on their skills, slow slopes and pleasant gliding is ensured and there is a great long run starting with the blue slopes down from the Twaregg area. The 25 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ slopes mean that the more experienced skiers and boarders can have an unforgettable time on the slopes, putting their skills to the test on more challenging terrain. The resorts 14 lifts make transportation around the resort a breeze. If you want even more exhilaration then snowboarders can enjoy a great terrain park which is new for the first time this winter. In addition to this there is the 9-kilometre-long varied toboggan-run which is the longest run in central Switzerland.
At the end of a long day on the slopes guests can take a break at the snow bar and enjoy the stunning panorama of the Vierwaldstätter Lake and the surrounding mountains, for something a little dynamic, the Panorama Schneebar above Klwenalp is the liveliest hut on the mountain.
