Flumserberg is a ski resort in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland and is the largest winter sports area between Zürich and Chur. This fantastic resort has elevations between 665 metres and 2,222 metres and some of the most modern lifts and snowmaking equipment with 45% of the slopes having snow cannons to ensure coverage throughout the winter seasons.
It is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders with over 65 kilometres of slopes and an additional 6 kilometres of marked ski routes. There is a slope for every ability level at Flumserberg with 10 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue runs 38 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red runs and 17 kilometres of ‘difficult’ black runs. Novice skiers will be at home in the lower part of the ski resort, the Tannenbodenalp has flat terrain and smooth slopes for practising, whilst the slopes below the Leist are aimed towards the more intermediate skiers. If its exhilaration you are looking for then head over to the slopes on Panüöl, Maschgenkamm and Prodkamm to get your fill of adventure.
There is an abundance of alternative activities available at Flumserberg, some of the most popular include tobogganing, sledging, dog sledding and snowshoe hiking on the prepared trails. At the end of a long day on the slopes why not treat yourself to a treatment at the wellness centre for some pure relaxation. Dining at the high altitude of 2,074 metres in 'Maschgenkamm' is highly recommended, the cosy mountain hut serves delicious dishes, traditional cuisine as well as providing a spectacular backdrop.
