The Ski Resort Melchsee-Frutt (Kerns) is located in the Canton of Obwalden, Switzerland. It is here, in the holiday region of Melchsee-Frutt, skiers and snowboarders will find a wide range of terrain, meaning winter sports enthusiasts alike can revel in their passion for snow.
Totalling 36 kilometres of slopes, set in elevation ranges between 1,080 and 2,255 metres and providing awe-inspiring mountain scenery and exhilarating slopes, skiers can revel in a selection of varying terrain. Beginner skiers can get to grips with their skis on 20 kilometres of easy slopes, children especially will love the Fruttli-Land with a magic carpet, carousel and play area. There are 6 kilometres of intermediate slopes, mostly located in the Bonistock Area, with much steeper slopes and slightly trickier terrain to tackle. There are 10 kilometres of difficult slopes and the Erzegg area is the place to head for more experienced skiers and thrill seekers. Snowboarders and free stylers will love the the Fruttpark snow park where they find rails, kickers and boxes to show off their skills.
But is it not just skiing that makes this resort so popular. There is a multitude of activities to partake in, including snowshoeing through the crisp, snow covered countryside trail and enjoying the thrill of sledding through the valley. Paragliding or hang gliding is also another way to take in the breath-taking natural scenery. When it comes to dining and après-ski guests will be spoilt for choice as there is a selection of venues to choose from. The Alpwirtschaft Bettenalp is especially popular with its high class food and sun terrace.
