When staying at the Saint Luc/Chandolin ski resort, prepare yourself for stunning views of 4000-metre peaks, in the Val d’Anniviers region of Switzerland. The Matterhorn is just one sight to see, whilst skiing at elevations between 1,655m and 3,025m.
By using the 13 ski lifts on offer, visitors and residents can gain access to more than 60km of slopes, valley runs and forest runs. With 20km of easy runs, 30km of intermediate and 10km of difficult runs, skiers and snowboarders of all abilities will easily have enough to keep them occupied during their stay. In addition, there are 104 snow cannons providing artificial snow on 12% of the slopes at the resort, which means you can still enjoy yourself when snowfall isn’t as good as it should be.
For those who want to explore the area, there are snow-shoe trails and winter hiking trails between Saint Luc and Chandolin. Routes range between 4km and 10.5km and are easy to follow. These hikes are an excellent way to see panoramic views and it’s always worth taking a camera.
Val d’Anniviers has an abundance of bars, restaurants and cosy eateries for guests to enjoy. Highlights include the wonderful Chandolin Boutique Hotel, the Hôtel Restaurant Beausite in Saint Luc and Le Toupak après ski bar for some late-night refreshments. Lastly, try the Brasserie Annivia Brewery for some excellent craft beer.
