Schilthorn – Mürren/Lauterbrunnen is a large ski resort located in the Jungfrau region of Switzerland, with over 51km of slopes for skiers and snowboarders to choose from. The area is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and it’s easy to see why. With beautiful views over the Swiss Alps at elevations of between 796m to 2,970m, the resort is the highest and most popular in the area.
Given the amount of astounding slopes at the resort, there tends to be a mixed crowd of families, groups of friends and couples who enjoy the height of Swiss skiing and snowboarding. Slopes are split on ability, with 19km of easy routes, 23km of intermediate and 9km of difficult routes. With a total of 16 ski lifts, it’s incredibly easy to get around the resort, and it only takes 32 minutes to get to the summit of Schilthorn, where visitors and residents will find some awe-inspiring views.
The best place to hang out after a strenuous day on the slopes is the village of Mürren, with its family friendly atmosphere and welcoming locals.
