Buchensteinwand ski resort can be found in St. Ulrich, in the Pillersee Valley Austria. There are a fair number of slopes located here, with 19.5 km in total and 2.5 km of ski routes. Together there are 8 operational lifts working to take guests up the mountain to their chosen slope, with elevations between 588m and 1456m.
The Buchensteinwand is the highest point at 1456m above sea level, and the Pillerseetal ski resort stretches across various villages including, St. Ulrich, St Jakob in Haus and Hochfilzen. From the Buchenstienwand mountain station there are some spectacular panoramic views to be seen. From this point, you are able to see across the other mountains including Hohen Tauern, Wilder Kaiser, Waidring Steinplatte and many more.
The easy runs take up 9.3km of slopes, which is more than enough space for beginners to be able to build up confidence without bumping into others. Intermediate skiers can have fun on the 7.7km of slopes available and for those seeking a more daring experience there are 2.5km of slopes available. In case snow levels drop, there are 84 snow cannons located around to ensure fresh snow is readily available. The longest run available is on the family runs 4.5km in length, whilst the most difficult run is Brchensteinwand with a length of 2km.
