The ski resort Vitosha – Sofia is the highest ski resort in Bulgaria and has two very distinguishable landmarks, the two biosphere preserves - Bistrishko Branishte and Torfeno Branishte. This resort is ideal for experts, beginners and families who want to indulge in exhilarating skiing, a variety of winter activities and relaxing après-ski.
When it comes to skiing Vitosha – Sofia offers a range of terrain for every ability to have endless fun on the pistes. Consisting of 20 kilometres of slopes set between elevation ranges of 1,340 and 2,290 metres, guests can choose to take it easy on 12 kilometres of blue runs, challenge themselves on 6 kilometres of red runs and experience extreme exhilaration on 2 kilometres of slopes. There really is something to suit every ability, the smooth descents on the the green ski run being the easiest and the demanding terrain on the Vitoshko Lale prove to be the most difficult.
Another added bonus is the fact that night skiing is offered on floodlit slopes which remain open until 22:00.
After a long day indulging on the powdered slopes, guests can choose between a selection of restaurants, rustic huts and bars for après-ski. The Mountain Tavern located at the middle lift station has a great menu to help recharge those batteries in between slopes.
