Located up in the picturesque Harz Mountains, the Torfhauslifte – Altenau ski resort is a wonderful smaller resort in the central uplands of Germany. With just 0.8km of slopes available for skiers and snowboarders, it hosts a tranquil skiing area that attracts families and pleasure skiers in abundance. There is 1 ski lift for visitors and residents to use during their stay, and the resort itself is set between elevations of 740m and 820m.
The entirety of the 0.8km slope is classified as a blue run, which makes it ideal for those just starting out on a winter sports holiday, or beginners that feel the most comfortable on wider, gentler slopes during the winter season. Families are also welcome here, especially with young children who may not have even set foot on the snow before. In addition to the freshly groomed slopes, there is also a valley run available at the resort, just in case guests are feeling particularly adventurous and would like to explore the area close to the resort.
