Made famous by hosting the Alpine Ski Championships in 2005, Santa Caterina Valfurva is an ideal ski resort for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Experience Italian skiing at its very best on 20.5km of white slopes and an elevation of between 1,722m and 2,880m. The vertical descent ensures a diverse range of surfaces for visitors and residents to take advantage of, as well as guaranteed snowfall during peak season.
Guests are able to use 8 ski lifts to get around the resort, and can navigate to 1.4km of easy slopes, 13.8km of intermediate slopes and 5.3km of difficult slopes. The variety in skill level ensures that the resort has an almost universal appeal, with families, groups of friends and children all enjoying the slopes at once. A ski school caters for beginners wanting their first ski experience to be positive, whilst there is plenty to challenge the advanced skier too.
Once guests have enjoyed an active day on the slopes, they can decamp to the relaxed atmosphere of one of the many restaurants in the area. Try Rifugio Branca or Rifugio Quinto Alpini for delicious food, or the Keller Steak House in Bormio (6.7 miles away) for food, plenty of après-ski drinks and fun with friends.
