The ski resort Veľká Rača can be found in the Žilina Region of Slovakia, a wonderful skiing area with 12 kilometres of slopes available. With elevation ranges between 652 and 1,041 metres, visitors and residents can benefit from a diverse range of surfaces to ski on, from gentle descents to more exhilarating runs.
Veľká Rača is more suited to beginners and intermediates, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something for the more experienced skiers. With 5 kilometres of easy slopes, 6 kilometres of intermediate slopes and 1 kilometre of difficult slopes, there is a good variety between abilities at this resort, meaning skiers or snowboarders of any ability will find something they enjoy. There are 6 lifts used to transport guests around, and plenty of opportunities to discover valley runs, alpine hiking and the terrain park with half pipes if guests are feeling adventurous. Night skiing is also available on 2.7 kilometres of floodlit slopes meaning skiers can spend time gliding under the stars.
While Veľká Rača can be tranquil and quiet, visitors can take a short bus to the Village for much more culture, things to do and places to eat. The Reštaurácia Marlene is definitely worth a visit, with its Slovak specialties’, wide open fire and alpine feel, perfect after a strenuous day on the slopes.
