Kranjska Gora Ski Resort is an old Slovenian ski resort located in seven different areas in Municipality of Gorenjska, Slovenia. For the winter sports fanatic, there are endless possibilities at this resort, given you can ski, snowboard, go cross-country, ice climb, hike and toboggan. The resort is just 50 minutes away from either Klagenfurt and Ljubljana Airports, making it ideal for those wanting to get on the slopes as soon as possible.
At an elevation between 800 and 1,215 metres and with 20 kilometres of slopes to choose from, skiers and snowboarders have more than enough terrain to keep them happy as they explore the area. Using 17 ski lifts to navigate the slopes, guests can get to their chosen slope with ease. There is a great selection of slopes ranging from easy all the way to expert, with 10 kilometres of blue slopes such as Mojca 1 which is the first port of call for novices, 8 kilometres of red slopes including the Vitranc 1 and 2 kilometres of black slopes where thrill seekers can test out their skills on the Podkoren the most difficult and longest slope in the resort. Night skiing is also available as well as a fantastic snow park with a half pipe.
As previously mentioned there is an abundance of other activities for guests to engage in including skiing on the 40-kilometre-long carefully maintained cross country trails. Take a once in a lifetime opportunity and go ice climbing in Lucifer, the famous frozen waterfall in Gozd Martuljek which is led by an experienced guide, or for something less daring there is also sledding, snow shoeing, snow biking and ice skating. So, whatever you enjoy doing you are sure to find more than enough to keep you entertained that this fantastic resort.
