The Maribor Pohorje Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in Slovenia, located just south of the Maribor, at the mountain range of Maribor Pohorje. With 41.5 kilometres of slopes for skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of, set between elevations of 325 and 1,327 metres, visitors can benefit from a diverse range of surfaces to ski on, from gentle descents to exhilarating courses. It is only a 55 minute transfer from Graz Airport.
With 23.5 kilometres of easy slopes, 13 kilometres of intermediate slopes and 5 kilometres of difficult slopes, there is a nice balance between abilities at this resort, meaning skiers or snowboarders of any ability will find something they enjoy. There are 22 lifts used to transport guests around to their slopes of choice. Night skiing is also available on 10 kilometres of floodlit slopes, making this the longest night skiing available in Slovenia. If you’re finding it difficult to get to grips with your skis then worry not, as there is an outstanding ski school with fantastic resources and instructors who can teach adults and children in the initial stages of their skiing journey.
For more adventure off the slopes, visitors can take part in a 36 km long well prepared route for cross-country skiing, go horseback riding or enjoy a romantic carriage ride through the panoramic Pohorje forests. You can even choose to visit the wellbeing spa if you want to indulge in total relaxation. With all this available on offer, it is clear to see why this is one of the leading resorts for a Slovenian skiing holiday.
