This huge resort also has 14 ski lifts to ferry guests around, and the resort itself stands in between 2,805m and 3,795m.
Visitors and residents will be over-awed by the panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range as soon as they arrive. The high altitudes at the resort practically guarantee snowfall all winter long, which makes this an exceptionally popular ski resort with locals and tourists alike. There are 27km of easy blue slopes, 28km of intermediate red slopes and 58km of difficult black slopes. This balance of abilities on the slopes means that there is a universal appeal in visitors and residents, ensuring that both beginners and advanced skiers can have a rewarding stay at the resort. For those new to winter sports, the Ernie Blake Snowsports School is highly regarded as one of the best in the country.
After a great day enjoying the snow, young and old will all be keen to get a bite to eat close by. Thankfully there are an abundance of bars and restaurants in the local area, including Rhoda’s Restaurants, the Blonde Bear Tavern and Pizza Shack.
