The ski resort Karkogel – Abtenau is located in Tennengau, Salzburg Austria. This resort might not be as big as some of the other resorts in Austria but it does have a range of slopes on offer which cater for all abilities as well as having a more laid-back atmosphere. It is because of this that the Karkogel resort is a popular choice for many first time and family skiers and snowboarders.
Guests can take advantage of the 12 kilometres of varied slopes and elevation ranges between 712 and 1,200 metres. These can be broken down and categorised into 6 kilometres of easy slopes, 4 kilometres of intermediate slopes and 2 kilometres of expert slopes so whether you are a powder professional or a beginner on the slopes, you're sure to find something adapted to your level. Another added attraction to this resort is its three-kilometre-long toboggan run, which is great fun for all the family, it is a designated slope and is illuminated until 23:00.
Scattered throughout the resort guests will come across 4 cosy restaurants and ski huts which provide refreshments, meals and snacks. The Karkogelhutte is the highest eatery and is located at the top of the Karkogelbahn ski lift. It serves delicious food as well as providing gorgeous scenery all of which promises for an unforgettable Austrian ski holiday.
