Located in Schladming-Dachstein, Styria, Austria, the ski resort Riesneralm – Donnersbachwald is classed as a medium resort with plenty to offer the discernable skier or snowboarder. With over 30 kilometres of slopes as well as a vast amount of freeriding space, all set between elevations of 950 and 1,820 metres, there is a perfect variety of terrain for all abilities to take advantage of.
The slopes can be divided by skill levels, starting with 15 kilometres of easy slopes, the forest run (Waldabfahrt) on the mountain is an ideal starting place for beginners. Riesneralp children’s area is a winter wonderland for children and has child only dedicated slopes as well as magic carpet lifts and play areas. There is also the 5-star Ski School Snow Magic Academy to teach children initial skills in skiing. There are 12 kilometres of intermediate slopes and 3 kilometres of difficult slopes available, the most demanding slope is the Europe Cup slope which is 1 kilometre in length and a few mogul slopes for thrill seekers to explore. In addition, there are 137 snow cannons to keep slopes topped up with fresh snow.
From the more luxurious restaurants of Skihütte Steer and Oxenalm both serving exquisite Austrian dishes, to the exquisite views of the Moersbachtal, guests of the resort have an abundance of quality eateries to choose from after a day on the slopes.
