Hidden within Innsbruck and its holiday villages is the lovely Patscherkofel – Innsbruck-Igls ski resort, Tyrol, Austria. For skiing and snowboarding there are 18km of varied slopes to explore, offering something for everyone from beginners to experienced skiers. The resort is situated between the elevations of 1,009m and 1,965m, there are 5 operational lifts to transport guests.
There are two points available to gain access to the resort, the traditional Patscherkofel cable car at Innsbruck-Igls and the Olympiaexpress quad chairlift on the Römerstrasse. Once access has been granted guests are able to expect 5km of easy slopes perfect for beginners and children, 9km of intermediate runs for novice ski and snowboarders and 4km of difficult terrain to challenge. The networks of artificial snow cannons located throughout the resort ensure snow levels are consistent and to a high standard.
There is a valley run available for those who are seeking a little more terrain to explore, a recommended route suitable for the whole family is the 6km long slopes to the Römerstrasse and the World Cup slope, which is part of the Olympic run. Throughout the mountain guests are able to find rustic huts and modern bistros offering guests a delicious pitstop break and an opportunity to take in the beautiful panoramic views over Innsbruck is presented with a view to the Wipptal, Stubai Valley and the Inn Valley as well as the opposing Nordkette mountain range
