The ski resort Kaunertal Glacier (Kaunertaler Gletscher) is located in the Holiday Region of Tiroler Oberland, Tyrol, Austria and is only a 1 hour 40-minute transfer from Innsbruck Airport. For skiing and snowboarding, there are 21.8 km of slopes with elevations ranges between 2,180 and 3,108 metres.
Kaunertal Glacier encompasses a number of slopes with varying difficulty with some breath-taking landscapes and terrain to explore. These slopes are enough to challenge any skier or snowboarder and consist of 14.8 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes which are suitable for even the most novice of skiers and located in the area next to Ochsenalm 1. There are 4.3 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red runs for the more confident skiers and 2.7 kilometres of ‘expert black runs including the highly challenging Karlesjoch - Wiesejaggl ski tunnel, there really is something for everyone from the smoothest of cruises to the steepest of chutes. You can even ski up to 3108 metres on the Kaunertal Glacier. Transportation wise there are 8 ski lifts including chairlifts and T-bars, which takes skiers to the summit and enables residents to be at one with the marvellous scenery and panoramic views.
