The Kitzbühel/Kirchberg – KitzSki ski resort is located in Kitzbühel and Brixental, Tyrol, Austria and is one of the largest and most popular ski resorts in the areas as for many years it has been holding the international race of the Winter World Cup. It is a short 1-hour transfer from both Innsbruck and Salzburg airports. The majority of the area consists of easy and intermediate skiing, but the area around there is an outstanding collection of slopes to excite the more experienced skiers, making this an ideal destination for beginners, freeride skiers and snowboarders.
There are approximately 179 kilometres of ski slopes ranging from the most simple to the more technical runs with an additional 36 kilometres of marked ski routes for residents to enjoy skiing and snowboarding like they never have experienced before. With elevations between 800 and 2,000 metres there really is something for everyone and is the ideal destination for those who want to spend a week on the freeride through unique and varied itineraries for downhill runs.
Skiers can take advantage of the 101 kilometres of easy slopes as beginners will be able to take advantage of the smooth, gradual slopes between the Hahnenkamm and the Pengelstein. More experienced skiers can experience the 61 kilometres of intermediate slopes and expert skiers can test their limits on 17 kilometres of slopes including the most difficult slopes the Direttissima (Schlagl) No. 38 which is 1.5 kilometres long.
The dining and après ski here is second to none with over 60 mountain huts and restaurants to choose from. If you’re after great food then the Restaurant Hochkitzbühel bei Tomschy at the top of the mountain station of the Hahnenkamm lift is perfect for that romantic candle lit dinner. For something more lively head over to the Ganslern Alm and the Streifalm for live music and great après ski.
