Located in the Murtal area of Styria, Austria is the Ski Resort Rieseralm – Obdach. The ski slopes in here cover about 10.5 kilometres with an additional 1 kilometres of ski routes for both skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities.
This resort has a traditional alpine feel about it, with elevations between 1,310 and 1,520 metres and 6 snow cannons, it is guaranteed that slopes are kept topped up with snow throughout the season. When it comes to the slopes there are 4 kilometres of easy slopes, beginners usually start with the Mitterweg slope and progress onto the St. Wolfgang Blick once they have found their feet. There is 6 kilometres of intermediate slopes to choose from including the red Zirbenpiste and to challenge even the most experienced of skiers there is the Schanze which is included in the 0.5 kilometres of expert slopes. The high altitudes require skill and endurance from skiers, whilst rewarding them with astonishing views and unforgettable moments.
There is a wealth of other exciting activities to choose from, tobogganing is always a family favourite. For those wanting something a little calmer, why not try a snowshoe walk on a variety of different, carefully prepared and marked trails.
