With 13km of freshly groomed slopes to make use of over the winter season, the Zahmer Kaiser – Walchsee ski resort is a superb option for those looking for skiing or snowboarding in Austria. Situated in the Kaiserwinki area of the country, there are 7 ski lifts here to ferry guests around the resort, which stands in between elevations of 660m and 1,200m.
The Kaiser mountain range provides a stunning backdrop to some of the best winter sports in the area, as well as a great deal for skiers and snowboarders of varying abilities to get involved with. In total, there are 11km of easy blue runs and 2km of intermediate red runs, but no difficult black runs at the resort. Balanced in favour of novice-skiers, this resort is ideal for families with young children looking to learn basic techniques, as well as pleasure skiers who simply want to glide down the wider, gentler slopes at ease.
Guests are recommended to try out the Aschinger Alm slope and the intermediate valley run for those who prefer more of a challenge on the snow. There is also night skiing available from the Amberglift, for those who just can’t bear to leave the slopes when the sun goes down.
