At Schattwald/Zöblen you’re bound to find a new favourite slope to try as a skier or snowboarder, or even your very first slope as a beginner. Nestled between the Rohnenspitze and Wannenjoch mountains, and located in the Tannheimer Tal area of Austria, there are 10.3km of slopes to discover, at elevations between 1,090m and 1,565m.
Visitors and residents are able to use 4 separate lifts to explore the ski resort, which includes 4.5km of easy slopes, 3.7km of intermediate slopes and 2.1km of difficult slopes. This ensures that novices can take their time finding their feet, whilst more advanced skiers and snowboarders can find something to challenge themselves.
Other than skiing or snowboarding, visitors and residents can make the most of some wonderful cross-country skiing where there is up to 80km of trails available to explore. There is also a natural toboggan run called Wies, winter hiking, curling and ice skating amongst other activities.
After an exhilarating day on the slopes, friends and family can seek out some great spots for dinner including Restaurant Pension Alpenblick.
