Balderschwang in Germany, on the border of Austria, is based at 1044m high. It is well documented to be the highest community in Germany with the resort having elevations of 1020km – 1500km (a difference of 480m).
This resort is well known to avid skiers for the snow reliability and vibrant local village of Balderschwang centre only 0.7km away. If visitors would like to travel a little further the next village is Obermaiselstien (12km) and Fischen i Allgau (15km).
Each run is separated by skill level, with easy runs taking up 10.5km of slopes, medium runs with 16km and the more daring and difficult have 4.5km of runs. In total, 31km of tracks to follow and 7km of routes. There are 11 operational ski lifts that transport everyone to different parts of the mountain.
For dining recommendations, the Bodenseehutte restaurant is one of the best locally, it serves up a German dinner menu, it is a favoured place for dinner which also offers special occasion dining and is child friendly. Service is wonderful and prompt. Fuchehuette is an intimate venue with delicious food, wonderful ambience and offers all diners a relaxing and memorable evening.
