To beat the crowds on the Bavarian slopes, the Kampenwand – Aschau im Chiemgau ski resort is small but perfectly formed. Located in Chiemsee Alpenland (Chiemsee Alps) of Bavaria, Germany, the resort is home to 12 kilometres of slopes, with elevation ranges between 626 and 1,467 metres. This combination of slopes and elevations leads to pleasant descents which are ideal for families and first-time skiers who want a great first skiing and snowboarding experience.
Visitors and residents can use the 4 ski lifts to navigate the resort, making transportation to desired slopes absolutely seamless. The slopes at the Kampenwand range from easy blue slopes right the way to expert black, consisting of 7 kilometres which are categorised as easy, 4km categorised as intermediate and 1 kilometres of expert. Given the size of the resort there is often no waiting times and families can enjoy the slopes to their heart’s content. There is even a ski school which can teach children and adults the skills they need to get the most fun and enjoyment out of the slopes.
If you're after something a little different then why not try your hand at some snow shoe walking on specially prepared routes from the SonnenAlm right through to the Steinlingalm, a perfect way to take in the fantastic scenery. There is even snow tubing on a specially designated slope, great fun for all the family to slip and slide down the 60m long trail.
When it's time to hang up the skis then guests can relax at the Steinlingalm with its cosy guest rooms, sun terrace and delicious Bavarian cuisine.
