For those who want to experience skiing or snowboarding without the crowds or waiting for time on the slopes, the Schanze – Schmallenberg ski resort in Germany is ideal. Located in the Sauerland area (or the Central Uplands of Germany), there is 1km of slopes available at an elevation of between 640m and 720m.
The pleasant stretch of slope is classified as 0.4km of easy run and 0.6km of intermediate run. This ensures that first-time skiers and snowboarders can enjoy their experience and find their feet without too much of a challenge. It is also great for families with young children who are keen to learn how to ski on holiday. There are 2 lifts that allow visitors and residents to navigate their way around the resort quickly and easily.
After the end of a long skiing day, guests can find plenty of places to eat around Schmallenberg including Restaurant Deimann, Schäferhof Jagdhaus and Restaurant Waldhaus Ohlenbach.
