Situated in a beautiful part of the Thuringian Forest, Germany, the Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig ski resort is a great destination for skiers and snowboarders alike. Complete with 1km of gentle slopes, and 1 ski lift for transportation, it is ideal for those new to skiing, as well as families who are keen to have a pleasant first experience on the snow.

With an elevation between 740m and 863m, visitors and residents can expect skiing to be easy enough, with a resort that’s made for relaxing descents and those learning to ski or snowboard in the majority. In fact, the 1km of slopes is classified as easy, with no intermediate or difficult slopes available. As much as this isn’t great for more advanced skiers, this is perfect for beginners, families and children to take their time and enjoy themselves.
