In the beautiful region of Lusatia, Germany, is the town of Senftenberg. Well known for its artificial lake 'Senftenberg See', which is one of the largest in Germany, this town is also a very popular destination for skiers.
Senftenberg is home to Snowtropolis, an indoor ski hall with a lot to offer. With an elevation of 100-115m, Snowtropolis offers a 0.3km easy ski slope with incline gradients that vary up to 25 degrees, and a J-bar ski lift to take you to the top.
If you are new to skiing and snowboarding or simply want a refresher, Snowtropolis has a fantastic snowboard and ski school which will teach you everything you need to know. For those who are more advanced, they also have a fun park with an obstacle course to play about on. As well as fantastic snow sport facilities, Snowtropolis boasts an alpine style restaurant and bar with fabulous views of the slopes, along with a skating rink. You can even book birthday parties and events there.
Whilst the ski hall itself is closed during the summer months; the resort is open all year round. From April to October, you can access three tennis courts, along with a badminton or volleyball court, and the two bowling facilities which are available all year round. There are also plenty of things to do nearby, including visiting Senftenberg Zoo and exploring the Lusatian Lake District. Nearby you will find the ski resort Schwarzenberg – Elstra, and a scenic drive will take you to the popular Sebnitz.
