If you’re thinking of going skiing in Italy, one resort you must experience is the Bardonecchia resort; given that it is one of the most underestimated ski resorts in the area. Located in the Piemonte region of Italy, the resort is famous for hosting the snowboarding events for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
The Bardonecchia is home to 100km of runs, 23 operational lifts, 16 easy runs, 18 medium runs and 5 back runs. There is 38km of land covered with snow cannons, a snow park and snow tubing available. Cross-country skiing as well as ski and snowboarding schools are well-established at the resort, alongside an ice skating rink for families and groups to enjoy.
With so much on offer, visitors and residents might not have time to explore the local area, but it’s well worth it. Local towns include Sauze d’Oulx and Sestriere which both include traditional Italian eateries, tranquil spas and exquisite views.
