Located in the is the Eisacktal of South Tyrol, Italy is the Ski Resort Racines-Giovo (Ratschings-Jaufen)/Malga Calice (Kalcheralm). The ski slopes here cover about 25 kilometres (the longest run being Rinneralm-Blosegg valley run which is 4.1 kilometres long) The ski resort stretches from the Kalcheralm on the Jaufen Pass to the slopes on the Saxner and is ideal for all ability levels with the majority of the slopes being aimed towards the more intermediate skiers.
This resort has a traditional alpine feel about it, with elevations between 1,300 and 2,100 meters and 53 snow cannons, it is guaranteed that slopes are kept topped up with snow throughout the season. There is a special ski lift and a magic carpet for children and beginners in the village, 4 kilometres of "blue" slopes and 21 kilometres of "red" slopes are perfect for skiers to experience. Even though the majority of the slopes are classified as intermediate thats not to say more experienced skiers can’t get their fix as the majority of these red slopes are quite varied with some trickier terrain through tree levels and with steeper descents. The high altitudes require skill and endurance from skiers, whilst rewarding them with astonishing views and unforgettable moments. There is even a new % kilometre long toboggan run and a variety of winter hiking paths and cross-country trails for alternative ways to experience the surroundings.
Guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment as there are over 10 Mountain restaurants & Ski huts to choose from. Ratschingser Stub'n is a cosy mountain hut which serves delicious Tyrolean specialities whilst the Die Kugl Après-Ski am Schistadl offers something a little livelier for those who want to take the fun into the evening.
