To experience the wonderful views over the Dolomites while skiing, you can’t get much better than San Martino di Castrozza ski resort. With a whopping 60km of slopes, 22 lifts to transport guests and an elevation of between 1,404m and 2,357m, it’s no surprise that many die-hard ski fans call this resort their favourite.
Within the stunning landscape, visitors and residents can explore to their heart’s content, enjoying 16km of easy slopes, 32km of intermediate slopes and 12km of difficult slopes. In addition, up to 45km of slopes at the resort cater to “Carosello delle Malghe” (translated as Carousel Huts), where skiers and snowboarders can take their time on the slopes, and have a bite to eat whilst out enjoying themselves, rather than having to come in and get changed. This concept is extremely popular at this resort and is highly encouraged for visitors and residents alike.
Especially for freeriders, there are 3 separate snowparks available. Colverde Snowpark, San Martino Snowpark and Rolle Railz Snowpark are all open for those wanting to challenge themselves and improvise on the snow.
Typical of an Italian resort, wonderful food can be found in abundance, especially local cheeses such as Tosèla and Nostrano di Primiero. It’s worth seeking out venues such as Rifugio Capanna Passo Valles and Malga Fratazza for the best food, whilst Ranch Bar, Piccolo Bar and El Barisel will provide après ski merriment.
