The Ski Resort Arena Platos is located in Sibiu County, Romania, and is the oldest mountain ski resort in the country. With 2.6 kilometres of slopes and elevations between 1,300 and 1,442 meters, this is a perfect resort for families and those who are new to this winter sport. All 2.6 kilometres of slopes are classified as ‘easy’ blue runs and give residents and visitors the opportunity to really find their feet on the slopes. The scenery is eye-catching, with smooth mountain plateaus and slopes diving into gorgeous valleys.
Arena Platos has the most modern fun-park in Romania. All slopes have snow making facilities and are floodlit, staying open until 22:00 perfect for those who find the skiing day too short. The skiing and snowboarding school located at the foot of the slopes, provides lessons and activities for all ages and abilities. As well as skiing, residents can try the toboggan run, snowshoe hiking through the mountains and stargazing at night.
Even though this may possibly be one of the world's smallest ski resorts, Arena Platos, nevertheless, is intimate, rustic with a very homely feel and is a very popular choice for those who are starting out on the slopes.
