Copper Mountain is a mountain and ski resort located in Summit County, Colorado, USA. It is a large resort with over 126 kilometres of diverse slopes, visitors and residents are lucky enough to enjoy elevations between 2,923 meters and 3,767 meters. The mountain receives over 25 feet of snow on average each year therefore the amount of natural snow and wide range of terrain means there really is something for every skiing ability.
Copper Mountain has a natural division of terrain, meaning that most of the beginner trails located on one area of the mountain and the more advanced terrain on the other. The west side of the mountain is known as the Union Creek area where the slopes are gentle and gradual, there are 30 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes that beginners and younger children will find accommodating. The East Village contains 40 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes and 56 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes, the natural divide gives the option of the more confident skiers have more advanced terrain to themselves, there is even a double black diamond in the Spaulding and Copper bowls. There is a total of 18 lifts with simple layouts that ensures easy transition from one part of the mountain to the other.
But the fun of this outstanding resort doesn’t end on the slopes. Copper Mountain has a fantastic après ski scene. Centre Village is the main focal point for bars and restaurants, with places such as ‘Mountain Melt’ and a Starbucks to grab a quick bite. However if it’s something more relaxing you want then head to ‘Solitude Grill’ which is located at the top of American Eagle Lift which has great food and superb scenery.
